Pain definitely can signal a change from one way to living to another and it may not be a pleasant transition. Pain helps you prioritize your life better… It allows you to find what is truly important to you rather than focusing on what is important to others and not yourself.
Pain naturally causes people to let go of things in life because the days are a bit harder to get through and it seems like there is less time in a day because it takes so much longer to do simple tasks… like brushing your teeth, hair or taking a shower and even making a meal.
Take this time on this special Christmas day and recognize the gifts in your life. Recognize what is important to you and take the time to cherish it. Your pain is able to give you more clarity on what is important to you… acknowledge and appreciate that clarity. That clarity in itself is a gift – a gift to you.
Once you know what is important to you then you can express more gratitude for that which you cherish and allow those things to flourish in your life. Once that which you love in your life flourishes then it will dull your pain and help it to go away… especially once you acknowledge the gifts it has imparted upon you.
What unexpected gifts have you received recently? Have you received gifts that you did not initially recognize as gifts? Acknowledge and appreciate each and every one of them.
