As you heal your body there may be parts of yourself that hold you back. They may cause you to engage in some level of self sabotage such as not getting enough sleep which will stress your body, thus increasing your cortisol levels and causing decreased pain tolerance and increased pain overall.
Maybe you eat the wrong foods that you know make you feel more miserable, tired and maybe even increase your pain. Maybe you consistly put too much into your day so that you are chronically stressed, placing you in a fight or flight reaction causing all of your muscles to tighten up and ultimately increase your pain. Maybe you have a tendency to not finish what you start so you never really get to see if it is ultimately successful at helping you?
What are you doing to hold yourself back? What is the part of you that is causing you do to that? Maybe fear, self anger, sadness, guilt? It could be any number of things but there is this little person inside of you that is pulling these strings that is ultimately NOT helping you. It is time to recognize that little person inside, a Mini-Me if you want to call him or her that. Once you recognize your “Mini-Me” then it is time to let him or her go.
